Abigail Eastburn

Professor

Abigail (Abbi) Phillips (formerly Eastburn) is a clinician educator who practices general internal medicine in the inpatient and outpatient setting in the SFVA healthcare system. She is the site director for the UCSF ambulatory continuity clinic for residents at the San Bruno VA clinic. She also precepts interprofessional trainees and teaches population health and quality improvement through the VA EdPACT interprofessional training program.

She is a member of the UCSF Academy of Medical Educators. Her roles with medical student education include (1) Bridges Coach and (2) Director of F2 Clinical Skills Learning and Assessment.
She has received several teaching awards including the Calvin Chou PRIME teaching award (2016) and the Academy of Medical Educators Excellence in Teaching Award (2014, 2016). She is interested in clinical skills development and assessment, interprofessional education, primary care training, and mentoring across differences.
