Research

The General Internal Medicine division includes 11 faculty members who are funded Clinical Investigators in a variety of topics of importance to the healthcare of veterans and the general population.

Among the research topics of expertise within the General Internal Medicine division are: Cardiovascular Disease, Kidney Disease, Women’s Health, Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Breast Cancer, Nutrition, Alternative Medicine and Medical Education. General Internal Medicine Faculty are recipients of numerous grants including awards from the National Institutes of Health, Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, and several research foundations.
